Flore, spine e lagrime in musica

Flowers, thorns and tears in early Italian baroque music, expressed through arias by Monteverdi, Kapsberger, Ferrari, Frescobaldi, Sances and Marazzoli.

Arranged for soprano, viol consort and continuo, this program is a meditation on pain, love and beauty in both secular and religious music of the time.

The theatrical arias are interwoven with instrumental pieces by Capirola, Dalza, Falconiero, Bassano and Salomone and Luigi Rossi, adding dynamic texture to the program while also exploring the same concepts of love and tears in non-vocal performance.
